Mumbai, 1st September 2020

To
The Principal

Dear Sir / Madam,

Sub: All India School Contest 2020

Indian Centre for Plastics in the Environment (ICPE) is a voluntary “Not for Profit”
organization set up on the recommendation of a Task Force constituted by the Ministry
of Environment & Forests, Govt. of India in January 1999 to formulate strategies and
action plans on matters related to plastics in the environment. The center is supported
by the industry.

The use of plastics and the issue of waste management has attracted global attention.
ICPE has been working in this field to promote scientific and practical solutions. Apart
from scientific management of waste, creating awareness among people on the benefits
of source segregation and inculcating anti-littering habit are important for a cleaner
environment.

ICPE, has been conducting various awareness campaigns among the younger
generation, specifically the students. In this, ICPE has been organizing “All India School
Contest” among students inviting their views and suggestions on how we could achieve
a cleaner environment with responsible use of plastics and management of waste. We
had received overwhelming responses to such contests held in past. Brief of the contest
held in 2018 and 2019 are available in ICPE website www.icpeawareness.in. /
www.icpe.in .

We wish to continue this despite various constraints being faced during this pandemic.
Accordingly, we invite active participation of the students to the “All India School
Contest – 2020” digitally in this version.
