Ilocos Region is located on
the western part of Northen
Luzon
● Apayao and Abra are found on the
northeast.

● Mountain Province is on the east.

● Province of Benguet is on the Southeast.

● Nueva Ecija, Tarlac and Zambales are on


the southern part of the region.

● It has four provinces; Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La
Union, and Pangasinan.

● Least number of population- Ilocos Norte

● Biggest number of population- Pangasinan

● The Province of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and La


Union considered the mountainous.

● Main occupation- Farming

TRIVIA!
The word “Ilocos” came from the name of
ancient people who lived in small caves
found along the seashores of Region I.
They were called “locos” which means
“cave”.
Later on, the place was called “Y-locos”.
