• An era of a total shift in how
communication and knowledge are
transmitted and received. (Hull, 1997-
1997)
• Heavily characterized by exponential
technological increase and usage,
emphasizing computer and internet-related
technology.
• The Revolution began with the creation of
the prototypes of the computer and Wi-Fi.

• The Information Revolution is when almost
every aspect of globalization, knowledge, and
communication has shifted to a more convenient
method.
• It changed how stores, banks, and other
businesses adjusted to the revolution and took
advantage of the services and technology that
came from it.
• It made communication and accessing
knowledge more convenient from different
devices.
• The Revolution has made spreading news and
propaganda faster than ever, even in real time.

• “The rapid spread of information helps to validate


and expand information, as well as override the
system’s media bias.” – (Obaid, 2020)
• Movements went from physical contact to online
debates, forums, and other online platforms to
gain more traction
• “Social media has reduced the significance of
having charismatic and central leaders in social
movements. It facilitated mobilization, and,
though critical, mitigated the effects of the
absence of charismatic leaders (Poell et al., 2015,
pp. 995-996).” – (Obaid, 2020)

CONCERNS OF
PRIVACY &
SECURITY
PRIVACY & SECURITY CONCERNS

• Lack of human confirmation when


accessing data
• Any data that is on a device is
compromisable, especially those left
unencrypted
• Many believe the revolution is lessening an
individual’s privacy and independence
• As time goes by, ill people find more ways
to hack or access another person’s data
