Are you familiar with these

 In our daily life, we often
have to perform some steps
to make or get something
done . Most of our daily
activities are related with
procedures, manuals, and
tips.
 What is
procedure
text?

Procedure text is a kind

of text that tells how to
do or how to make
something through a
sequence actions or
steps
 What is
manual?

A manual is a small book

that consist of
instructions oh how to
operate, how to do or
how to handle
something.
A manual consist of
operating something.
 What is tips?

A tip is a piece of advice

oh how to do a certain
thing
 • To describe something
Social is accomplished through
Function a sequence of actions or
steps.

• Goal (showing the purpose)

• Materials (telling the needed

Structur • Ingredients (telling the needed
food)
e • Steps 1-n (describing the steps to
achieve the purpose)

Imperative sentences are used to tell people how to do things or
give instructions.

AN EXAMPLE OF A MANUAL TEXT

My neighbor bought a new computer last week. She asked

me to tell her the instructions. Here they are:
1. Plug the power cord.
2. Press the power button on. After a few minutes you will see
a windows menu on the monitor.
3. Look at the left button of the monitor.
4. Then hold the mouse gently.
5. Move the arrow pointer on to the “start” menu.
6. Click it.
7. Click the program menu and choose MS Word. Now you
are ready to type.
AN EXAMPLE OF A TIP TEXT

A few tips to keep away from mice (beberapa tips

Mice are small animals but they can be harmful anaimals because
they can destroy household items, mess with food, and spread
sereve diseases throuhg their faeces. Here are some useful tips
oh how to keep away frpm mice:

1. You can put the papppermint near wall corners.

2. You can pour generous amount of pappermint oil in to cotton balls
the place them around counter tops, under the sofas in your living
room.
3. You can also put them behind shelves, wall corners or on the floor
beneath your kitchen sink.
