Introduction

ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES
• DEFINITION: Environmental issues are effects of human activity on the
biophysical environment, most often of which are harmful effects that
cause environmental degradation. Environmental protection is a
practice of protecting the natural environment on the individual,
organizational or governmental levels, for the benefit of both the
environment and government.
AIR POLLUTION
• As Ghaziabad is a industrial zone,so there are many factories right
here.
• The number of factories are increasing day by day.
• Due to these factories,as we know a lot of smoke is generated which
degrades the quality of air.
• This degrade of quality in air not just cause severe health issues, but
also degrades the living standards of our region.
AIR POLLUTION
• The poor air quality of our city is such that Ghaziabad has been
ranked the most polluted city of our country or several times of
world.
• It’s not just this many health experts have rated our city, like this that
they even say a infant must not be born or raised here as the air
quality here severely affects his/her health.
• The whole NCR region is suffering badly due to air pollution.
Water Pollution
• Due to large number of factories, our region is also prone to other sort
of pollution i.e. water pollution.
• There is a large river here i.e Hindon river which in today times is
greatly polluted not just due to factories waste but also people
throwing waste in it.
• Various campaigns also have been there to protect the river, but they
have not much greatly affected the factories or people of Ghaziabad.
FLOOD
• This is not prevelant issue in today times, here in Ghaziabad.
• But as my parents say it was a serious issue back in 1998.
• The flood happened here due to the overflow of Hindon river.
• But this issue was solved when Hindon air base was constructed,as
flow of water was restricted for it’s making.
DEFORESTATION
• It had been the root cause of many pollution, here in Ghaziabad.
• Most of the trees are cut down for making of factories.
• There were two jungle sort of zone here in 2000, Raj Nagar and
Vasundhara.
• But currently these both zones are converted into large socities with
large buildings here and there.
• Due to conversion of these jungle to large socities, many monkeys
were displaced from their home,so the people here a lot of time face
this issue of coming of monkeys into their houses.
CONCLUSION
• At the end I would just say that there must always be a sustainable
development.
• It’s not that our city is only number 1 in pollution, but several times it
has been also ranked number 1 smart city of our country too.
• If our city people are able to make this city not only the smart city, but
also the cleanest city of our country, then we can set a right example
of sustainable development to the world.
