According to Bobiles(2004),irregular students are the students that are having hard time
coping with their academic problem the most. They experience discrimination, not having an organized
schedule of classes, have lesser number of subjects and units, and other factors that make them different
form being a regular student. And these factors affect their academic performances which lead to grade
results. Also, irregular students are feeling ‘out of place’ inside their classes where in most of their
classmates are regular students that’s having group of peers
Streegan, et. al (2011) in their statistics report on The Causes and Effects of Being an
Irregular Student. It was stated in the study that some people think that irregular students do not have high
regard for their education even without knowing why they really became irregular.
Robinson (2009), students are often uncertain of their abilities to meet such demands.
Thinking independently might be a new experience for some students who are accustomed to relying on the
teacher as the ultimate authority on the course subject.
Al-Busaidi et al. (2011) found out that entry into new class marks the first time that many
irregular students have lived away from their first school, course and section. These irregular students have
to face the new environment on their own without the security of a safe support system.

Baker (1985) noted that prior to shifting or transferring; irregular students have little idea
about the scheduling of classes. The new student has been in high school where everything is scheduled for
them, study time is given to them and all they do is follow it. Irregular students come to the classroom with
unspoken and unformed questions about self and the world, questions that schools and parents deliberately
never allowed them to ask.
Consequently, many irregular students report feelings of loneliness and homesickness as a
result of their lack of adjustment to college (Prancer et al., 2009).
Even though irregular students may develop a number of social relationships, this does not
necessarily prevent loneliness (Curtona, 2007; Rice, 2009).
Encounters of anxiety and isolation are not uncommon for students in their attempts to adjust
to a new learning environment (Andrade, 2006).
Isolation is clear among students who lack proficiency and competency in their medium of
instruction as they failed to understand their peers and tutors, causing a breakdown in their communication
channel (Turula, 2002).
Knowing your classmates is definitely not a major ordeal however in some cases, it tends to
challenge. You will enjoy your studies much more if you interact well with your classmates (Odusami,
2012).
According to Guimarães, et al. Moreover, George Herbert
