Introduction
In today’s highly competitive educational landscape, senior high school learners’
academic success is paramount. The study habits and their impact on academic
performance is a subject that warrants thorough investigation. This research is essential
because it seeks to explore and understand the intricate relationship between students’
study habits and their academic performance.
According to the study of (Advances Medical Education and Practice)( Jafari et
al.,2019) Study habits encompass various aspects, such as physical well-being, time
management, cognitive abilities, and note-taking skills. These factors play a crucial role in
shaping students’ approach to learning and their overall academic performance.
Furthermore, academic performance is influenced by a multitude of factors, including
individual traits, behaviors, family dynamics, and psychosocial elements. Understanding
how these factors interplay with students’ study habits can provide valuable insights into
enhancing their educational outcomes. Tadese et al., 2022)
Theoretical Framework
Academic performance of students is one of the main indicators used to
evaluate the quality of education in universities. Academic performance
is a complex process that is influenced by several factors, such as study
habits. Study habit is different individual behavior in relation to
studying³ and is a combination of study method and skill. In other
words, study habits include behaviors and skills that can increase
motivation and convert the study into an effective process with high
returns, which ultimately increases the learning. This skill is also
defined as any activity that facilitates the process of learning about a
topic, solving the problems or memorizing part or all of the presented
materials. Study habits are in fact the gateway to success and differ
from person to person. (Jafari et al., 2019)
