Introduction
Social networking is a web-based
service that allows users to build either
public or semi-public profiles within a
controlled environment.
The smartphone's innovation has
expanded social media use by allowing
users to access various social
networking sites with only a few
clicks.
Social media has exploded as a
category of online discourse where
people create content, share it,
bookmark it and network at a
prodigious rate
Because of its ease of use, speed and
reach, social media is fast changing the
public discourse in society and setting
trends and agenda in topics that range
from the environment and politics to
technology and the entertainment
industry (Asur and Huberman, 2010).
Social networking sites have long been
known as valuable platforms for
educating and connecting people from
various walks of life.

Background of the study
The advancements in communication
technology that have enabled information
and communication technologies (ICTs) to
broaden the scope of communication are
being celebrated around the world right now.
There is no doubt that modern
communication technology has created a
"Global village" throughout the entire world.
However, as things stand, technology has
both a positive and a negative side, like a
coin with two sides.
Statista estimates that 3 point 96 billion
people will be using social media worldwide
in 2022, an increase from 3 point 6 billion in
2020. In 2025, this amount is anticipated to
reach 4.41 billion. (Present as of 2022).
Social media are interactive technologies that
enable the production and exchange of
knowledge, concepts, passions, and other
forms of expression via online communities
and networks. Due to the wide range of
standalone and integrated social media
services currently offered, it can be difficult
to define social media, but there are some

with higher social comparison orientations
appear to use social media more frequently
than those with lower social comparison

exhaustion, and a lack of exercise. And problems sleeping. Furthermore, users spend
more time. The more likely it is that they will experience mental illness on social
media. Illness, eating, and critical issues like low self-esteem. Disorders, worry, and
inferiority sentiments.

social interaction lessens people's face-to-face interactions. Human contact.
Interactions online, however, do not educate. Problems like loneliness may result from

Scope of the study

The location of the research is specified in one location to

Somaliland especially Noradin schools in Hargeisa. The will
only deal with how social media effected the students in
Noradin.

Significant of the study

• Parents, students, and teachers should all take note of this study. The purpose of this
study is to inform and raise awareness among the students about the potential
impact that social media may have on them and to assist the school's teachers in
understanding the impact that social media has on their students.

• Parents should care about the study because it will help them understand. Parents
should consider the study because it will help them monitor their children's use of
social media by letting them know the potential effects that it may have on them.
The study will give senior-level students the knowledge they need to understand
that, in addition to the social advantages of this social networking site, using it
excessively could be harmful to their health. It will be helpful for teaching students
about the variety of social media. For students and other researchers conducting
related research, it will provide pertinent materials. The study will provide
researchers with more details on the impact of social media on students' attention

 When it comes data gathering the students may not be in their natural
behavior.
 The students time is limited which will have great impact on this study.
 The privilege we gain from the president and teacher to make our study may
not be possible or limited.
