PROBLEM STATEMENT
• Improper discharge of wastewater
• The presence of social amenities
• The presence of uncovered drains
All these factors, directly and indirectly contribute to
improper management of wastewater. To address this issue
effectively, we must first comprehend the nature of the
wastewater we generate. This presentation will shed light
on the critical role of wastewater characterization in
mitigating this environmental problem.

OBJECTIVE
S
• To undertake a literature review on the usefulness and
threats of wastewater
• To identify possible research gaps
• To investigate the wastewater regulation principles and the
agencies responsible.
• To sample and characterize effluents
• To predict the impact of the effluents on the environment
and humans.
• To analyze the cause of the state of the effluents

CONCLUSION
-Wastewater characterization is essential for understanding its composition and impact on the
environment.
- Our thesis has explored the diverse contaminants in wastewater, emphasizing the need
for
accurate analysis.
- Effective wastewater characterization guides treatment processes, ensuring
environmental
protection and resource recovery.
RECOMMENDATION
- Enforce strict regulations based on characterization data to safeguard ecosystems.
-Regularly characterize influent wastewater to optimize treatment for better contaminant
removal.
- Promote responsible water usage and disposal practices to reduce wastewater contaminants.
- Collaborate across fields for innovative solutions in wastewater management.
