CONDEMN NO

MORE
John 8:1-11 NIV
but Jesus went to the Mount
of Olives. At dawn he
appeared again in the temple
courts, where all the people
gathered around him, and he
sat down to teach them.
John 8:1-11 NIV
The teachers of the law and
the Pharisees brought in a
woman caught in adultery.
They made her stand before
the group and said to Jesus,
John 8:1-11 NIV
“Teacher, this woman was
caught in the act of adultery.
In the Law Moses
commanded us to stone such
women. Now what do you
say?” They were using this
question as a trap

John 8:1-11 NIV
But Jesus bent down and
started to write on the
ground with his finger.
When they kept on
questioning him, he
straightened up and said to
them,
John 8:1-11 NIV
“Let any one of you who is
without sin be the first to
throw a stone at her.” Again
he stooped down and wrote
on the ground. At this, those
who heard began to go away
one at a time,
John 8:1-11 NIV
the older ones first, until
only Jesus was left, with the
woman still standing there.
Jesus straightened up and
asked her,
John 8:1-11 NIV
“Woman, where are they?
Has no one condemned
you?” “No one, sir,” she
said. “Then neither do I
condemn you,” Jesus
declared. “Go now and
leave your life of sin.”
Deuteronomy 22:22 NIV
If a man is found sleeping with
another man’s wife, both the
man who slept with her and the
woman must die. You must
purge the evil from Israel.
Use of
Standards
Matthew 7:1-2 NIV
“Do not judge, or you too
will be judged. For in the
same way you judge others,
you will be judged, and
with the measure you use, it
will be measured to you.
Romans 6:14 NIV
For sin shall no longer be
your master, because you
are not under the law, but
under grace.
Double
Standards
Galatians 6:1 NIV
Brothers and sisters, if
someone is caught in a sin,
you who live by the Spirit
should restore that person
gently. But watch
yourselves, or you also may
be tempted.
Significance
of
Noncompliance
Romans 8:1-2 NIV
Therefore, there is now no
condemnation for those
who are in Christ Jesus,
because through Christ
Jesus the law of the Spirit
who gives life has set you
free from the law of sin and
death.
John 13:21-30 NIV
After he had said this, Jesus
was troubled in spirit and
testified, “Very truly I tell
you, one of you is going to
betray me.” His disciples
stared at one another,
John 13:21-30 NIV
at a loss to know which of
them he meant. One of
them, the disciple whom
Jesus loved, was reclining
next to him. Simon Peter
motioned to this disciple
and said, “Ask him which
one he means.”
John 13:21-30 NIV
Leaning back against Jesus,
he asked him, “Lord, who
is it?” Jesus answered, “It
is the one to whom I will
give this piece of bread
when I have dipped it in the
dish.”
John 13:21-30 NIV
Then, dipping the piece of
bread, he gave it to Judas,
the son of Simon Iscariot.
As soon as Judas took the
bread, Satan entered into
him. So Jesus told him,
“What you are about to do,
do quickly.”
John 13:21-30 NIV
But no one at the meal
understood why Jesus said
this to him. Since Judas had
charge of the money, some
thought Jesus was telling
him to buy what was
needed for the festival,
John 13:21-30 NIV
or to give something to the
poor. As soon as Judas had
taken the bread, he went
out. And it was night.
