RATIONALE OF THE
STUDY
The Coronavirus was discovered in China in December 2019 and has
quickly spread around the world leading to the pandemic which caused
a dramatic change into our ways of living especially to the students'
learnings. In this research, the researchers will uncover the experiences
of COVID-19 positive Notre Dame of Dadiangas University's Senior
High School students' Experiences. This research must be conducted for
a better understanding of the view of survivors that have suffered a lot,
to guide the school administration, teachers, community, and parents in
what they need to do for the well-being of the survivors.
RESEARCH DESIG
The qualitative research employed the
phenomenological research design.
Phenomenological research is a qualitative
approach that intends to interpret and describe
actual experiences lived by a person, inductively.
Specifically, this outline was utilized in order to
know the experiences and coping strategies of
NDDU-SHS students who were tested positive
for COVID-19.
 RESEARCH DESIGN
Collaizi’s Seven-step Method will be
utilized for the Research Data
Analysis. In addition, the researchers
will be using the Purposive sampling
method to help determine those
students among NDDU-SHS who are
qualified to take part in the study as
participants.
LOCALE OF THE STUDY
The study will be conducted at
Notre Dame of Dadiangas
University, Marist Avenue,
General Santos City. A private
Catholic School runby Marist
Brothers of the Schools (FMS)
in General Santos City, South
Cotabato, Philippines.
LOCALE OF THE STUDY
With the teachers' steady
consideration of the
survivors , it has piqued the
investigators' curiosity with
the survivors' and school's
coping strategies.
 PARTICIPANTS OF THE
STUDY
The participants will be determined through the
following criteria:
1. The participants should be enrolled in Notre
Dame of Dadiangas University S.Y 2021-2022.

2. The participants are bona fide students of

Notre Dame of Dadiangas University.

3. The participants should have experienced

being tested positive for COVID-19.
RESEARCH
INSTRUMENT
The researchers opted to utilize a social messaging app,
such as Messenger, to collect responses from the
participants of the study. The researchers will also
conduct the pre-survey via Google forms. The Zoom and
Google Meet applications will be used by the
investigators, depending on the participants’ preferences.
Links that will be utilized will be sent to the participants
of the study through Facebook Messenger’s group chat.
Data collection Techniques

The participants will be requested to participate in an in-depth

interview via Zoom or Google Meet depending on the
participants preference. Various open-ended questions will be
asked to convey their lived experiences during their Isolation
and Quarantine experiences. Thus, the acquired results from the
participants will set out to be translated and transcribed from the
researchers.
DATA ANALYSIS
The researchers will analyze the
responses of the participants
gathered from the interview using
Colaizzi's Phenomenological
Method. Enumerated below are
the 7- steps of Colaizzi’s
descriptive phenomenological
method

The researchers will use Colaizzi’s (1978) method as shown in the following
statements below:

1. Each transcript are read and re-read all the time in order to make sense of the
entire content
2. 2. Each transcript is a significant statement, these are phrases or sentences
that pertain to the students ' experience in online games notably the social
prospect
3. 3. The process of giving meaning to the statements.
4. 4. Organizing the formulated meanings in the cluster of themes.
5 . Exhaustively describing the investigate phenomenon
6. Describing the fundamental structure of the phenomenon
