BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

In social life, there is rarely a problem that occurs because of differences. However, these differences arise so that the
emergence of problems based on these differences, the problem is called discrimination. Although there are often
disparities between groups of people, these differences might ultimately lead to conflict.

Discrimination, according to George Theodorson and Achilles Theodorson (1979), refers to the unequal
treatment of a group of people, which is effectively similar to a group of discriminators . Discrimination is a form
of problem that occurs due to inappropriate treatment of one person who is considered not the same as a certain
association, group and community. Discrimination can occur because of differences in age, skin color, ethnicity,
and others.

The researcher focuses on the Discriminiation depicted in Belle 2013 Movie. The researcher using sociological
approach to know the relationship between sociology and literary works.
