Introduction

Leprosy is a chronic disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae


which primarily affects skin and peripheral nerves.
Current Scenario In Nepal

• Currently in elimination phase.

• Nationwide prevalence of less than 0.92/10,000 people.


Really??
• Although the data published by Depart of Health Services
show leprosy is in elimination phase since 2009, truth is far
from it.
