1. BALANCE
- arranging the elements so that there is an
equality from one side to the other.
symmetrical image - has perfect balance. asymmetry or
radial arrangement - spreading out from a common
center
2. HARMONY - a consistent, orderly, or pleasing
arrangement of parts; congruity. This happens in art
by using similar elements through out a piece that bring
it together in a “pleasing” way. Harmony can be
considered simplicity.

3. PATTERN/RHYTHM - is simply repeating an
element in such a manner. This will cause the viewer’s
eye to move around to each element.

4. Unity is taking the parts of a piece of art and unifying


them in to something better as a whole. Composition is a
great way to do this. This image could be separated
in to each part as its own piece, but together they become a
unified composition

5. Contrast - It is similar to adding contrast to an
image overall, but this is done by using the
elements. You can create contrast in an image by
using complementary colors or differences in
light and dark

6. Proportion is using the size of an object to give


it more or less importance.

8. Movement - the goal of creating


movement is to lead the viewer’s eye all
around the photo and land on the focal
point.

Colors make a drawing or painting attractive and beautiful.
But using a single color may not be very pleasing.
Blending several colors to form a new color makes the
artwork more attractive.
Shapes
If you look around, many objects are formed from
different shapes. Even those that you think have no
regular shapes are formed from a shape. New artist learn
how to draw by using shapes first.

Digital printing- is a newer process to the
world of printing. It is a type of
printmaking which takes a digital image
then prints it onto face such as paper,
cloth etc. This type of printmaking uses
laser or ink jet printers.
4 STEPS FOR DIGITAL PRINTING
ON
T-SHIRT
1. Pre-treat - prime dyed t-shirt for digital ink
application.
2. Heat press - flatten fabric fibers for smoother
print surface.
3. Printing - loading t-shirt and send artwork to the
printer.
4. Set Ink - run t-shirt through high temperature
dyer.
This digital technology has speeded up
the printing of original designs at the same
time made them accessible to interested
individual. This method of printmaking has
become very efficient as the digital file
serves as the printing plate, thus saving
time and money.

Printmaking is the process of creating art by
transferring an image or design from a source
onto another material.
Matrix - a single original plate or surface where
prints are made. This can be a metal plate,
stone wood blocks, linoleum, fabric, and
others.
purpose of printmaking: - is to make an
artwork that can be reproduced many times.

Silkscreen printing is one of the methods in
printing. It uses a stencil to apply ink
onto another material. It can be on fabric
or t-shirts. It can be on paper, wood, vinyl, or
any other material that absorbs ink.

- comes from two Greek words: photo
and graph. Photo means light and graph
means drawing. An image or picture is
created by means of light, that’s why it also
referred to as drawing with light.
Photography has been known today as
fine art. With the use of camera, anyone may
capture a nice work of art. Since, photography is considered a fine art,
the different elements and principles of art also applied.
The right way in taking pictures
makes it more appealing. It gives
enjoyment to those who sees it.

important?
Many people are fascinated with
photography. They may not be a professional
photographer but they take delight in taking
pictures of their family, friends, vacations,
events and celebration. You learn about people
from different parts of the world. Pictures show
us scenes of important and historic events. You
learn events in the past with pictures.

essay?
photo essay
- is a collection of pictures or images that are
arranged in a specific order to tell the progression
of events, emotions, and concepts.
Pictures tell stories. You can tell a
story without writing a word. Your use of
composition, contrast, color, and perspective in
photography will convey ideas and evoke
emotions.
Steps in making a photo essay:
1. Think about a topic or theme, which you would like
to do your essay about. Make sure your theme
has a point or tells a story.
2. Write down your ideas for photo composition and
then choose the best ones.
3. Take photographs based on the topic or theme you
planned. Make sure you have a large variety of
photos to choose from.
4. Make sure that your photos flow together
and are easily connected visually.
5. Finally, add captions explaining your
photos and the story they are portraying.
