When to use 'an'
• Before all words that begin with
the vowels “a”, “e”, “i”, “o” “u”

– an ant
When to use 'an'

sound as the “y” in you.

Articles and some adjectives
• Do not use either definitive or indefinite articles
before certain adjectives

Demonstrative adjectives- used to identify or
express the relative position of a noun in time/space
Ex. This, that, these, those

Also, adjectives without nouns do not use articles
