What is IOT

IOT stands for Internet of Things

It refers to a network of physical devices, vehicles, appliances and other

physical objects that are embedded with sensors, software and network
connectivity that allows them to collect and share real time data.

It shares right data at right time with right person so that the right action
can be taken.
How IOT works
IOT LOCKS
• It basically allows you to lock and unlock the doors through a
unique access code or your smartphone/voice commands or
dedicated softwares. It can also be accessed by Bluetooth or
Wi-Fi
• More traditional methods would include fingerprint or
physical access cards.
IOT TELEVISION
• Nowadays, TVs are considered as a main hub of the house as they act
as the main controller of all the IOT(things having internet) enabled
devices.

• With their internet connectivity and ability to communicate with other

devices, they play a significant role in the interconnected world of IoT.
As technology continues to advance, smart TVs are likely to become
even more integrated into our daily lives, offering a seamless and
immersive entertainment experience.
IOT SECURITY

IoT can enhance the security and safety of a smart home.

IoT-based home security devices include:
• Smart cameras
• Biometric locks
• Video door entry systems
• Fire/smoke sensors
• Motion sensors
• Connected switches
• Management panels
IOT Thermostat
• What is Smart Thermostat?
• Regular thermostats let you adjust the temperature in your home—
it’s just a control panel for your heating and air conditioning system.
• A smart thermostatic device (also known as a “smart” thermostat) is a
programmable electronic device that controls the operation of a
central air conditioning or heat pump system. These devices use
sensors to monitor indoor temperatures and adjust the system’s
output based on the current conditions
IOT LIGHTING
• Smart lighting uses IoT-enabled sensors, bulbs, or adapters to allow
users to manage their home or office lighting with their smartphone
or Smart home management platform. Smart lighting solutions can be
controlled through an external device like a smartphone or smart
assistant, set to operate on a schedule, or triggered by sound or motion.
• Save money by switching to more energy-efficient LED bulbs.
• Set schedules to ensure that lights are off when they aren’t needed – or
control lighting schedules remotely as a security measure when you’re
away from home or out of town.
• Adjust the color or dimness of lights in different rooms or individual
bulbs.
IOT APPLIANCES
• Smart windows can be programmed to respond to signals from other
appliances as well as triggering events.
• Washing Machine can be programmed to respond by the paired
smartphone remotely.
• Coffee Maker can be programmed to brew a perfect coffee as per
preset settings at a particular time and it can also remind you to take
a coffee brake.
• Voice Assistant can be your actual assistant when it comes to playing
music, calling someone, scheduling a meeting or controlling all above
appliances with just voice commands.
IOT GARDENING
• The interesting thing about smart gardening solutions is that they can
automatically increase or decrease water supply depending on the
data for weather patterns collected. This feature helps to control
water wastage and humidity of soil much better.
• Here are some of the benefits that smart gardening solutions bring to
smart homes:
• Better water wastage management.
• Enhanced control over soil humidity.
• Easy-to-use remote control.
