Types of nouns: common

Types of nouns: common and
proper
Nouns in Spanish can be common or proper:

● Common nouns name a person, animal, object, place or idea without differentiating it from others
● Proper nouns do differentiate them from others—their first letter must be capitalized

The noun “ciudad” can refer to many places; therefore, it is a common noun

The noun “Madrid” refers to one of the many cities in the world

It differentiates that city from other cities such as "Valencia", "Barcelona", etc. Therefore, “Madrid” is a proper
noun and the first letter is capitalized

Game rules
Let’s play the goose game! Gather some friends (as many as four). You’ll need a pawn and a die each.
Rules:

Roll the die to determine who starts. The player with the highest roll starts! There are several types of spaces:

“Noun” space. You’ll see a picture—you must fill in the sheet with the correct noun
01

“Goose” space. Sing “De oca a oca y tiro porque me toca”… but first draw a challenge card
02 and try to beat the challenge. Fill in the card with the challenge. If you don’t succeed, go
back to the space where you started the turn on!

“Go back” space. Aw, sorry. Return your pawn to the starting space

Adaptations of the
game
This template has been created by Slidesgo
Hey, teacher!
The advantages of game-based learning is that you work on the basic knowledge that you are
teaching in your class with the motivation of the game and developing in your students other
aspects such as respect for the rules, the turn to speak/play, socialization, teamwork...

And it is completely customizable to your group's needs!

If you think your group can play the game independently, you can eliminate the image that
appears on a space on the board once used to increase the difficulty or increase the difficulty on
the "challenge cards".

If, on the other hand, you consider that it is too difficult, you can eliminate "place" and "idea" from
the student's sheet, remove the "write the sentence" exercise or simplify the vocabulary on the
board by adding words from the student's immediate environment

You can also try easier "challenges"

In short, adapt it to everyone’s needs!

Rubric for game assessment
The following rubric can be used for self-assessment, co-assessment and hetero-assessment

Self-assessment: the students evaluate themselves, developing a process

of self-criticism and improving their self-esteem

Co-assessment: one peer evaluates another, developing critical analysis,

comparative oral presentation and empathy with the peer

Hetero-assessment: it is the teacher who evaluates the students, using

objective criteria adjusted to the needs of each student
