BASICS AND DEFINITION OF LANGUAGE
• structured system of communication created by humans
• it can be based on writing, speech, sign etc.
• language has also a structure based on grammar and vocabulary
HISTORY OF THE LANGUAGE
• often is considered that the formal study has started in India with Panini (5th century BC)
• Sumerian scribes have already studied grammar and difference between Sumerian and
Akkadian grammar way before Panini (1900. BC)
• AD, there was a lot of changes, new rules and definitions about language, more
informations and knowledge about it

LANGUAGE PART IN THE BRAIN
• the brain has its own areas for languge and possibilities for talking
• There are two areas that are included in language processing
• first area is called Wernicke’s area and the second one Broca’s area
• there are more than million languages around the world

• because of the really similar structures, grammar or


vocabulary in some of them, we separated them into
language families

• Indo-European language family is one of the biggest and


well known

• except one big family of languages, we can separate it into more smaller or we can call
them co-families
