GUIDELINES BEFORE THE ORAL

PRESENTATION:
 The Research Group Should Secure A Research Adviser’s
Notification Or Message Of Readiness To Undergo/Attend
Face To Face Presentation.

 The Oral Defense Will Proceed As Scheduled. Students Are


Expected To Arrive 20-30 Minutes Before The
Presentation.

 All Groups Are Required To Use PowerPoint For Their


Presentations. To Avoid Technical Problems During
Presentation Please Send Your Ppt File To Your Teacher.
 The 20–30-Minute Grace Period Given Should Be
Enough For The Preparation And Setting Up Of
Devices And Etc.

 The Attire For Defense Is Corporate/Business.


Long Sleeves/Polo (With Blazers)

 The Duration For The Entire Exercise Is 45


Minutes. 15 Minutes For Presentation And 30
Minutes For Question And Answer.
 For Consistency Among Groups, The Following Parts Of
Research Should Be Discussed Or Presented Within 15-Minute
Period:
1. Title
2. Rationale (it can be in a paragraph or bullet form)
3. Objectives of the study (in bullet form)
4. Significance of the study (in bullet form)
5. Scope and Limitation of the study (in bullet form)
6. Operational Definition of terms (in bullet form)
7. Conceptual/Theoretical Framework
8-10. Research gap
11-14. Brief and concise methodology (Each section must be presented)
15-18. Clearly show every statement of the survey questionnaire
19-20. Flash the references
However, This Does Not Mean That The Group Will Not Put Emphasis
On Other Parts Of The Paper Not Mentioned In This Part.
GUIDELINES DURINGTHE ORAL
PRESENTATION:
 The research leader shall briefly introduce the members and
adviser and their topic to the panelists (note: for the first presenters,
please prepare a universal prayer before starting the presentation)

The chair of the panel shall give the students the go signals to start
the defense. He/she shall keep the time and see to it that the time
allocation for presentation and question and answer will be
followed.

 After the presentation, anyone of the panelists can start asking


questions.
 The research adviser can just observe and take note of the
salient points in the defense but cannot help the students, in
case they find some difficulties in answering the questions of the
panelists.

 The research adviser will act as recorder in which he/she will


discuss the summary of the proceedings with the group after the
defense.

The chair shall summarize all the suggestions of the panelists


to improve the manuscript or paper. THE CHAIR SHALL
ANNOUNCE THE RESULT IF PASSED, WITH MINOR
REVISIONS, WITH MAJOR REVISIONS, OR
UNSATISFACTORY/FAILED
 Once finished, the panelists shall give ratings using the
defense evaluation tool.

 The panel’s decision on whether the students passed or


failed the oral defense shall be based solely on the content of
the manuscript using the standard scale.

 The group members will not necessarily have the same


score since they are graded individually.
GUIDELINES AFTER THE RESEARCH DEFENSE
PROPOSAL:
 Length of time for the revisions of manuscript/paper: the
students are given one (1) week to complete the revisions
and suggestions of the panel.

 Students show the corrected manuscript/paper to the


research adviser.

 Research adviser and students review the suggestions and


revisions for further improvement of the paper.
 Research adviser approves corrections and revisions

 Students submit the copy to the panelists for the approval

 If approved, students will proceed to next process

 Principal signs the final revised paper

TONIGHT
 Presenters should arrive 20-30 minutes before the
presentation.
 Presenters 1 should go directly to the SHS ROOM 2 to set
up devices for the presentation.
 Presenters 2 should stay on SHS ROOM 1(Waiting Room)
 Presenters 3 AND 4 should stay at the covered court.

 Remove the masks during the presentation.


 Participants/presenters should remain seated as much as
possible and limit trips in/out of the room.
 After the presentation, presenters should proceed to SHS
ROOM 1 for the EVALUATION.
Pursuant to honorarium for Research
Adviser dated December 2018 (Policy No.
BHCI-SRO-002), each research adviser
shall receive an honorarium fee
amounting to Php 1,500.00 per Research
Paper.
1 Research Adviser @ Php 350.00 / Research
Paper (on the day of Research Defense)
- If students paid the Research Adviser,
the payment will be given to the students
as a reimbursement on their expenses
provided they were able to give the
Acknowledgment Receipt signed by the
Adviser.
