An Introduction
 Industry
Definition :
An industry is a group of manufacturers or
businesses that produce a particular kind of goods or
services.

 Organizations in the textile industry design,

fabricate, and sell cloth.
 The tourist industry includes all Organizations with
the commercial aspects of tourism.
 What is an organization?
A consciously coordinated social unit,
composed of two or more people, that
functions on a relatively continuous
basis to achieve a common goal or set
of goals.
 Systems theory of Organizations
• The systems theory of organization is the concept that
organizations are composed of many subsystems that aren’t
necessarily related to one another and yet work together to
form the whole.
• Pioneered by Ludwig von Bertalanffy in 1950’s
