WHAT IS DIGITAL FICTION? 1

Digital Fiction is a genre of literature encompassing works

created exclusively on and for digital devices, such as 2
computers, tablets, and mobile phones. A work of electronic
literature can be defined as "a construction whose literary
aesthetics emerge from computation", "work that could
only exist in the space for which it was 3
developed/written/coded—the digital space".[1] This means
that these writings cannot be easily printed, or cannot be
printed at all, because elements crucial to the text are
unable to be carried over onto a printed version. 4

MINECRAFT: STORY MODE

• This is an adventure game, set in the

Minecraft universe, in which players
assume the role of Jessie and his friends on
a quest to reunite heroes. As players
progress through the story, they are
presented with dialogue and action choices
that occasionally lead to combat against
monsters.

SKELETON CREEK
• Written for ages 10 to 15, the story is told in a unique
experience alternating books and videos. As you read
Ryan's journal in the book, you will get passwords to
Sarah’s website to watch her videos with the latest
discoveries. This exciting new storytelling format will have
kids riveted.
• Investigation takes two tracks: Ryan records everything
in his journal, while Sarah uses her videocam to search
things out. . .and then email the clips for Ryan to see. In a
new, groundbreaking format, the story is broken into two
parts -- Ryan's text in the book, and Sarah's videos on a
special website, with links and passwords given throughout
the book.
