Effects On The
DEPRESSION Anxiety Or
Depression Of
Students When Face
To Face Classes
were Lost Due To
The Pandemic
BACKGROUND
o The COVID-19 pandemic ushered in an unprecedented shift in education, as
traditional face-to-face classes were abruptly replaced with remote and online
learning. There is a growing need to delve deeper into the emotional and
psychological consequences it has imposed on students. This study seeks to
investigate the nuanced ways in which the absence of in-person interactions with
peers and instructors during the pandemic has influenced the levels of anxiety and
depression among students. By examining the unique challenges and coping
mechanisms that emerged, this research aims to provide insights into the
multifaceted emotional experiences of students in the face of the pandemic-
induced shift in educational paradigms.

WHY?
o In today's ever-changing educational landscape, it has become increasingly evident that the effects of
losing face-to-face classes during the pandemic have left a lasting mark on students' mental well-being.
This research is not just about statistics and data; it is about the stories, emotions, and human experiences
behind the numbers. By carefully selecting our respondents, we aim to give voice to the diverse and deeply
personal journeys of students who have navigated the challenges of remote learning.
o We believe that each student has a unique perspective, and their experiences are more than just data points,
they are narratives of resilience, adaptability, and struggle. By asking and choosing our respondents
thoughtfully, we strive to honor these individual stories and uncover the nuances of their mental health
journeys. In doing so, we can gain a richer understanding of the profound impact that the loss of face-to-
face classes has had on the hearts and minds of our students.
o Our research goes beyond statistics, it seeks to humanize the data and shed light on the hidden emotional
toll of the pandemic. By asking and choosing our respondents with care and empathy, we hope to not only
contribute valuable insights to the academic discourse but also provide a platform for students to be heard,
acknowledged, and, ultimately, supported in their mental health struggles

SCOPE
o In the midst of the global pandemic, the abrupt loss of face-to-face
classes has undeniably had profound effects on the mental well-being
of students. Yet, beyond the statistics and scholarly studies lies a
deeply human narrative that deserves our attention. In our research, we
aim to illuminate the intricate and often overlooked emotional
journeys of students as they grapple with the unexpected shift to
remote learning. By listening to their stories, we hope to uncover not
just the quantifiable data but also the nuanced experiences, emotions,
and coping mechanisms that have emerged during this challenging
period.
