What expressions do we

Will - May - Might

Will: it’s used to give facts, predictions.

Examples: It will be expensive to travel to Europe (fact)


The baby will keep us busy (prediction)

Subject + will (not) + verb + complement

May, might and will: they’re used to show you’re not 100% sure about the
future.

Examples: I may go on for a master’s degree.


I might not be able to afford it.
Maybe, I will move to Arizona.

Going to: it’s used to talk about plans or decisions already made.

Examples: I’m going to travel to Europe next month.


She is going to study a degree or certificate.

Introduction

We use the sequence adverbs first, next, then, after that and finally to describe the order in which two or more actions
happen.

Example: How to make an omelette.

"First, I break the eggs. Then, I heat the butter in a pan. Next, I add the eggs. After
that, I put it on a dish. Finally, I eat the omelette with toast”.

Comma is used after first, next, then and finally when introducing the sentence that describes the action. These words
can also be used at the end of the sentence.

Example:

First, I will make a cup of tea or I will make a cup of tea first

1. To add information: in addition, also, and, as well as, not only… but also.

Examples:
o We have a car and a bike.
o We have a car as well as a bike.
o We have not only a bike but also a car.
o Regular physical exercise helps you burn those unwanted calories. In addition, it
relieves stress.
o He not only smokes; he also drinks.

2. To contrast information: but, however, even though, in spite of, while.

Examples:
o I tried to lift the box, but it was too heavy for me.
o I tried to lift the box. However, it was too heavy for me.
o She still loves him, even though he treated her very badly.
o Our plane arrived on time in spite of the delay during takeoff.
o I like tennis, while my brother prefers bowling.
