Bone fracture healing: is an intricate and fluent regenerative process that aims
at restoring the damaged bone to its pre-injury state and cellular composition

There are two main modes of bone healing:

1. Primary bone healing


2. Secondary bone healing
• Primary Bone Healing

• Hematoma (blood-filled swelling) is formed
• Break is splinted by fibrocartilage to form a callus
• Fibrocartilage callus is replaced by a bony callus
• Bony callus is remodeled to form a permanent patch
