An explanation of the Game First International Match
The first ever test match was
held between England and Australia, at Melbourne, from the 15th to the 19th of March, 1877 HISTORY OF CRICKET
The Board of Control for Cricket in
India (BCCI) is the national governing body for cricket in India. The board was formed in December 1928 as a society, registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act. It is a consortium of state cricket associations and the state associations select their representatives who in turn elect the BCCI officials The first World Cup was organised in England in june 1975, with the first ODI cricket match having been played only four years earlier. However, a separate Womens Cricket World cup,had been held two years before the first men's tournament, and a tournament involving multiple international teams had been held as early as 1912, when a triangular tournament of Test matches was played between Australia, England and South Africa. Each of the first three World Cups was held in England. From the 1987 tournament onwards, hosting has been shared between countries under an unofficial rotation system unofficial with fourteen ICC members having hosted at least one match in the tournament. HISTORY OF ICC 1909 - 1963 - Imperial Cricket Conference The governing body of world cricket, which has 106 countries currently in membership, began its life with some very tentative steps. On 30th November, 1907 the President of the South African Cricket Association, Abe Bailey, wrote a letter to F.E. Lacey, MCC Secretary. Bailey, having accompanied the South African team on their tour of England, was now on his way home. Bailey suggested the formation of an 'Imperial Cricket Board'. The Board's function would be to formulate a set of rules and regulations to govern international matches involving England, Australia and South Africa. He also wished to promote a Triangular Test series between the three countries in England in 1909. Though what was classified as a Test match had taken place on their own soil as far back as 1889, South Africa's 1907 tour to England was the first such visit to include official Test Matches. South Africa had first played Tests against Australia in 1902/03. Origin of Cricket Evidence suggests it was played in England in the 12th- 13th century.
In 1744 the London Cricket
Club produced what are recognizably the rules of modern cricket Forms of Cricket Test Match Cricket - can go up to 5 days One day International - about 7 hours - 50 over match 20-20 International - 20 over match - about 3 hours LAWS OF CRICKET The Preamble – The Spirit of Law 11 – Covering the pitch Cricket Law 12 – Innings Law 1 – The players Law 13 – The follow-on Law 2 – Substitutes and Law 14 – Declaration and runners; batsman forfeiture Law 3 – The umpires Law 15 – Intervals Law 4 – The scorers Law 16 – Start of play; Law 5 – The ball cessation of play Law 6 – The bat Law 17 – Practice on the Law 7 – The pitch Law 8 – The wickets field Law 18 – Scoring runs Law 9 – The bowling, popping and Law 19 – Boundaries return creases LAWS Law 20 – Lost ball Law 32 – Caught Law 21 – The result Law 33 – Handled the ball Law 22 – The over Law 34 – Hit the ball twice Law 23 – Dead ball Law 35 – Hit wicket Law 24 – No ball Law 36 – Leg before wicket Law 25 – Wide ball Law 37 – Obstructing the Law 26 – Bye and Leg bye field Law 27 – Appeals Law 38 – Run out Law 28 – The wicket is down Law 39 – Stumped Law 29 – Batsman out of his Law 40 – The wicket-keeper ground Law 41 – The fielder Law 30 – Bowled Law 42 – Fair and unfair play Law 31 – Timed out The Cricket Field Measurements
