FIELD STUDY 2- PARTICIPATION AND TEACHING ASSISTANTSHIP


COURSE DESCRIPTION

• This course is the continuation of Field Study 1. It is school based


and allows pre-service student to participate and assist in a limited
actual teaching-learning activities that relate to assessment of
learning, preparation of instructional materials, preparation of the
bulletin boards, and other routines in the classroom. A portfolio
which will contain sample lesson or learning plans and
demonstration teaching of atleast one subject content area will be
required. An action research shall be encouraged to start in this
course and conclude during the Internship.

Tuesday 9-12, Wednesday 7-10, 10-1, 2-5 & Thursday 10-1

GOALS OF THE COLLEGE OF SPORTS , PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND RECREATION

The College shall endeavor to achieve the following goals:

1. To produce globally competitive leaders who can formulate policies and set priorities and
directions in the promotion and development of all amateur sports;
2. To produce development-oriented researchers in the field of sports, Recreation and related
fields;
3. To provide training and assistance to target clientele for continuous improvement of the
individual and organizational performance;
4. To produce leaders that exhibit moral and ethical standards in social and physical
activities.
OBJECTIVES OF THE DEPARTMENT

The department shall endeavor to:

1. Provide advance instruction in Physical education and Recreation Services;


2. Develop globally competitive leaders committed to the pursuits of excellence in physical
education and recreation studies who are able to translate into action concepts and values
necessary to improve the quality of life of the Filipino.
3. Promotes physical education, and recreation among studentry and other constituents of
the university.
PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

The BPEd is a four year program aimed at equipping graduates with competencies to meet the psychomotor, cognitive and
affective needs of learners. These consists of:
1. a strong substancial foundation of the subject matter (disciplinary knowledge) that informs their curricular choices when
planning , designing, implementing and assessing learning activities (curriculum and program planning, implementation,
monitoring and evaluation);
2. an understanding of the scope and sequence of various movement forms; as well as elements, strategies and various
movements in a multitude of settings (movement competency and proficiency) that enables them to meet the needs of
learners to know how, be able to do and how to learn;
3. Expert knowledge and pedagogy for maximizing student engagement, mentoring students and modeling respect for
differences in gender, ability and culture;
4. Reflective practice that (a) propels them to set high standards for and hold themselves accountable to the professional
standards (professional accountability and responsibility) ; (b) enables them to identify gaps in their current competencies
and pursue professional development opportunities; and (c) assist them in studying the impact of their teaching on student
learning;
5. Building and cultivating relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, other professionals and learning communities;
advocating for PE, being role models of integrity and professional excellence as well as leaders in the service of education.
