Theme Name: Automated Street Light Maintenance System
Ide a The project aim is to a Monitoring system for Street Lights • Sender nodes(Arduino nano with required sensors and transmitter), installed on street lights, continuously monitor the lights' status and collect location coordinates. • When a fault is detected or a status change occurs, sender nodes use LoRa (RF) to wirelessly transmit this information to the central receiver. • The central receiver(ESP32 With inbuilt wifi, and LoRa as receiver) processes the data, identifies faults, and sends email notifications to designated personnel, thanks to its network connectivity. • This process enables real-time fault detection and ensuring prompt maintenance actions are taken to improve service quality. LoRa 1.RF-Based Technology: LoRa, or Long Range, operates on radio frequency (RF) signals, making it suitable for wireless communication. 2.Maximum Range: LoRa stands out for its remarkable range, reaching up to hundreds of kilometers depending on the application and environmental conditions. 3.Versatile Applications: LoRa is highly versatile, finding use in diverse fields such as IoT, smart cities, and industrial monitoring. 4.Energy-Efficient: Despite its long-range capabilities, LoRa remains energy-efficient, prolonging battery life for connected devices. 5.Adaptive Data Rates: LoRa adapts its data rates based on signal conditions, ensuring optimal performance whether transmitting over long distances or short ranges Approac h Use Show Stoppers: Cases: • Real-time fault detection • Communication network: The system will require a • Precise location tracking of faulty street lights reliable communication network to transmit data • Enhanced service quality for citizens from the street lighting controllers to the central • Optimized street light maintenance processe monitoring system. • Manpower: The project will require a team of skilled engineers and technicians to design, develop, and Dependencies: implement the system. It is important to identify and • Street lighting controllers hire the necessary resources before starting • Sensors development. • Communication network • Cost: The development and implementation of the • Central monitoring system system Might be costly at transmitter end.
