 Setelah menyaksikan video pembelajaran, siswa mampu :
 mengidentifikasi fungsi sosial dari Past Perfect.
 membedakan fungsi sosial dari Past Perfect dan Simple Past
Tujuan tense.

Pembelajaran :  memahami struktur atau pola kalimat Past Perfect Tense

 melengkapi kalimat Past Perfect Tense
 membuat kalimat dengan menggunakan Past Perfect tense
 menggunakannya dalam kehidupan sehari hari.
 Past perfect tense merupakan tenses yang
digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu peristiwa
yang telah terjadi di masa lalu dan selesai juga
di masa lalu.

Bisa juga untuk menyatakan suatu peristiwa
yang terjadi di masa lampau sebelum kejadian
lainnya (yg terjadi di masa lampau juga)
Salah satu ciri khas dari tense ini adalah
penggunaan “had” sebelum kata kerja.

PATTERN (S + had + not + past participle/V3)
• My brother hadn’t slept
• They hadn’t come
Kalimat Interogatif / kalimat tanya
(Had + S + past participle/V3?)
• Had my brother slept? Yes, he had
• Had they come yet? No, they hadn’t.

Past Perfect with Subordinate Conjunction :

simple past tense + after + past perfect tense.

Example :
I went to school after I had eaten my breakfast.
After I had eaten my breakfast, I went to school .
 past perfect tense + before / by the time / when + simple past
tense.
Examples :
a. I had already eaten breakfast by the time he picked me up.
By the time he picked me up, I had already eaten breakfast
b. I had read the book three times before I read his review.
