Quality control and Quality Problem resolutions

CASE 1 – TEMIS TVC,
BAR UNIT &
SIDEBOARD
 Issues with stone veneer was identified – Related to
production and finishing.
 Quality/standardization of veneer procured by the
manufacturer was not defined.
 Tikamoon on verge of discontinuing the product.

Steps Taken

 Inditime/IEPL researched and identified the right quality


brand for stone veneer to be procured by BASANT.
 Post implementation of the right veneer and regular follow-
up helped in achieving high quality.
 This product has made its presence in the market and
remains a hot selling product for Tikamoon.
CASE 2 – WOOD
QUALITY
 Practice of Aerolite Filling and use of bad quality
wood.
 Huge number of products got rejected making it
difficult for manufacturers and buyers

Steps Taken

 Inditime/IEPL insisted on less usage of Aerolite as it


was badly impacting the looks of the wood.
 We rejected pieces and strongly advised them to
procure quality wood so that Aerolite usage could be
less, and rejection reduced.
 ISSUES
 Balance issue with the coffee table
 Despite usage of tiny leveler, the coffee table
will seem balanced, but when reassembled,
the balance issue would come up once again.
 Structure of the legs of the coffee table was

 Root cause analysis was done by the
IEPL/Inditime team on the structure of the leg.
 Accordingly, we advised on the leveler and
this product is working well.
CASE 4 – LIV RANGE
BLACK INLAY FINISH
 ISSUES

 Issue with sand blasting technique by the manufacturing team.

 Sand Blasting was used to level the inlay with the wood surface.

Steps Taken
 IEPL/Inditime advised exact depth to set the inlay so that when sand
blasting is done, the wood surface levels with the inlay.
 This product is now one of the most successful products of
Tikamoon range.
CASE 5 – LUNA
SHEESHAM CHAIR
 ISSUES

 Back leg of the chair used to break while inspection


and was rejected every time the manufacturers
presented for check.

Steps Taken

 After thorough investigation by Inditime/IEPL team,


it was suggested to screw from where the leg was
coming out and put a wooden dowel to hide the
particular area so that it is not visible.
 Manufacturers were happy and so where we when
this was applied, and quality product was shipped.
CASE 6 – ISSUES
WITH SHEESHAM
PRODUCTS
 Quality issues identified and marked on the surface
for the manufacturing team to correct the same.
 Thorough checking is performed by our dedicated
team
We asked for separate and dedicated area at the manufacturers
place for quality inspection and this was provided by the
manufacturer.

Implemented quarterly training session for QTD with the


STEPS TAKEN employees involved in the production of Tikamoon products.

BY
IEPL/INDITIM Conducted handholding training sessions and used real pictures
for the employees to comprehend issues and resolution. The
E training was conducted in vernacular language so that we could
connect with the employees easily and make them understand
issues and resolution.

Inculcated the culture of quality amongst the employees,


management through training and having regular sessions with
the management.
QUALITY PRINCIPLES WE
FOLLOW
Design, size as per the CAD drawing approved and provided.

Products and the pieces are checked and matched with the swatches.

Regularly follow up to check the ratio mixing of color and chemicals.

TOT for supervisors so that they train their labourer's to follow right
sanding process.

Surprise visit to check if the protocol is being followed as prescribed by the


buyer.
