OFFICE 365 EXCEL (2019)
1. Data import tool improvements:

• The Power Query data import tool in Excel 2013 was renamed Get & Transform in Excel 2016,
but the name has reverted to Power Query in Excel 2019.

• The improved Power Query tool provides the ability to import data from external data sources and
then scrub and clean the data before placing them in Excel.

• Some of the transforming capabilities include the ability to group data, rename column headings,
transpose data, reverse rows, detect data types, replace values, split columns, merge columns,
unpivot columns, invoke custom functions, create conditional columns, and parse data.
2. Automated workflow:

Excel 2019 now connects better to Microsoft Flow, which allows you to create automated workflows in
which data are retrieved from other applications and then stored and/or manipulated in Excel.

The dataflow can be further programmed to automatically send to or share those data with other people or
third-party applications.
3. 3D images:
• Excel 2019 now includes new 3D imaging capability in which you can rotate a 3D model of an
object.
• Excel now includes hundreds of 3D images, which are available from the Insert tab's 3D Models option.
• Image categories include animals, electronics, gadgets, dinosaurs, geology, space, dioramas,
letters, biology, and more
4. New functions:
• Excel includes six new or improved functions, as follows:
IFS,
SWITCH,
 TEXTJOIN,
CONCAT,
MAXIFS,
MINIFS.
• IFS and SWITCH are simplified versions of the nested IF function, which eliminates the
need for more complicated nested functions.
5. Custom visuals:
• To provide more visual ways to display and present your data, Microsoft has
incorporated its Power BI suite of apps into Excel.

• To access these new custom visuals, from Excel's Add-ins tab select Get Add-ins to
display the Office Add-ins dialog box pictured below

• Scroll through the apps, select the one you want to use, and then set up the app to link it
to your desired data.
EXCEL-GOOD SOFTWARE
1.EFFICENCY:
• Excel is a vital tool for speeding up productivity and allowing workers to be more efficient when
dealing with large amounts of data and calculations.

• Allow users to complete tasks and analyze the data more quickly.

2. MAINTAINABILITY:
• The easier that we can make changes, the better.

• In the Highlight Changes dialog box, check the option – ‘Track changes while editing. This also
shares your workbook’. You can also specify the ‘When’, ‘Who’, and ‘Where’ options.
3.USABILITY:
• Users should be able to learn and use a system easily.
• You can perform calculations
• All the tools for data analysis
• Easy to data visualizations with charts
• You can print reports easily
• So many free templates to use

4.INTEGRITY:
• Security should be taken into account. Our software should let attackers access unauthorized
resources.
• Because Excel is widely used, it has been attacked by hackers.
• While Excel is not directly exposed to the Internet, if an attacker can get a victim to open a
file in Excel, and there is an appropriate security bug in Excel, then the attacker can gain
control of the victim's computer
