A. Khẳng định (affirm)
S + is/am/are + V_ing + O

I Am
We, you, they Are
She, he, it is

Ex:
1. I am studying English now.
B. Phủ định (negative form)

S + is/am/are + not + V_ing + O

Ex:
1. We aren’t watching TV at the
present
C. Nghi vấn (interrogative)

Is/am/are + S + V_ing + O?

-> Yes S + is/am/are

-> No S + is/am/are + not

Ex:
1. Is she cooking now?
-> Yes, she is/ No, she isn’t.
2. Cách dùng (Usage)
+Diễn tả một hành động đang diễn ra
ngay lúc nói. (thường đi kèm với:
now, right now, at the moment, at
present).
Ex:
- The children are playing football now
- What are you doing at the moment?
- They are dancing at present.
+ Diễn tả một hành động thường
xuyên lặp đi lặp lại gây khó chịu
cho người khác( thường đi với
“always”).

Ex: He is always coming late.

+ Đi sau câu mệnh lệnh.

Ex:
1. Look! The children are crying.
2. Be quiet! The baby is sleeping in
the next room.
3. Cách thêm “ing” (Verb_ing)
- Những động từ kết thúc bằng một
nguyên âm + 1 phụ âm => nhân đôi
phụ âm cuối rồi thêm đuôi “ing”
Ex:
Sit -> sitting
run -> running
travel -> travelling
begin -> beginning
get -> getting
- Những động từ kết thúc là 1 nguyên
âm “e” trước khi thêm “ing” ta bỏ
“e” rồi thêm “ing”
Ex:
Write -> writing
drive -> driving
ride -> riding
- Những động từ kết thúc bằng đuôi
“ie” ta đổi “ie” thành “y” rồi thêm
“ing”
Ex:
die -> dying
tie -> tying
hie -> hying
- Những động từ còn lại ta thêm “ing”
sau động từ
- Những động từ kết thúc bằng đuôi
“ee” ta thêm “ing”
Ex:
see -> seeing
4. Dấu hiệu nhận biết

dấu (!)
NOTE: - Không dùng thì HTTD với các
động từ chỉ nhận thức, tri giác như:
tobe, see, hear, understand, know,
like, want, feel, think, smell, love,
hate, realize, seem, remember,
forget, belong to, believe,…
