Fortress in Travnik
-Judging by legends, the method of construction and other indicators, it is
assumed that the fortress was built in the second half of the 14th or the first
half of the 15th century, and that its builder was King Tvrtko II Kotromanić.
In the preserved written sources in the report of the Trogir prince, Travnik was
first mentioned in 1463, when Sultan Mehmed II the Conqueror passed
through it in his campaign to Jajce.
-At the very entrance, coming to the city from the east, you will be greeted by
a scene worth a thousand words, a picture fantasized by photographers and
painters, inexhaustible inspiration to writers, the Old Town, a fortress with the
forgotten name Garbun.
-Covered with a veil of mystery, the fortress has resisted time and people for
centuries, stands firm and hides the dilemma of the Bosnian king who raised it
over Hendek, a stream that flows in winter and dries up in summer.
