ADWA CENTER: PROJECT 0.00kM ------------------------------------PATTERN LIVE LOAD DESIGN REPORT FOR BUS LANE

1 INTRODUCTION
This is a verification report to show the adequacy of the tube props used to support the
formwork as per the request of the consultant

2 MODELLING AND LOADING

2.1 Structural Modeling

The props spacing is 100x 100 cm and it has a bracing at middle height in both
directions. We have taken a prop size of 65 mm (Diam) and thickness of 3mm.
(Information collected from the contractor). The slab is modelled as a membrane with
a thickness of 25 cm to transfer the load (both permanent and variable) to the props.
The props are supported at the midpoint with other props of the same size. The
support at the bottom is pin. The top of the props is released as the connection cannot
support moment. A story height of 3 mt is taken for modelling. Yield strength of the
props is taken as 235Mpa and ultimate tensile strength 360Mpa.

2.2 LOADING

The following loading are taken to calculate the axial force on the props.

Permanent Load - Gk = 0.25X 25=6.25 Kpa

NB: The slab thickness is 13 cm and there are secondary and primary beams of size
60x 40 and 45x25. In order to calculate the total dead load assumption is made to take
a uniform slab of thickness 25 cm that will result in a conservative dead load on the
props.

Variable Load - Qk= 1.5 Kpa

3 CONCLUSION

As per the result obtained above the prop spacing is sufficient enough to support the
action coming on it.
