Objectives
• At the end of these weeks, the pre-service teacher (PST) should be
able to:
a. identify regions/provinces of the Philippines and the distinct
resources in each region;
b. present an economic map which depicts the diverse resources, crops,
products and industries of each region/province; and
c. discuss the importance of identifying the different resources in each
region/province of the Philippines.

Northern Luzon (Hilagang Luzon)

Tourism – Tourism sector plays a role in
growing the service sector in Region 1.

GEOGRAPHY
Ethnicity
Central Luzon is ethnically and culturally diverse, with Ilocanos (Tarlac,
Nueva Ecija, Zambales), Pangasinan (Tarlac), and Tagalogs (Tarlac, Nueva
Ecija, Bataan, Bulacan).

Kapampangan is spoken in Pampanga, Southern Tarlac, border towns of


Nueva Ecija and northeast Bataan.

ideal place for agriculture. It is the
