Jack is a seven-year-old boy who loves


adventure. He likes to climb trees and
find interesting bugs and leaves in his
backyard. He also likes to play with
his dog, Maisy. Maisy is a two-year
old yellow lab mix. Jack and Maisy
are best friends.
Answer the following questions
based on the passage read.

We learn something every day by
reading. We can learn these through
different sources like social media, smart
phone applications and newspapers.
These texts are informative because they
feed us with information which we do not
know yet.
One of the most popular types of
writing is known as informational
text. Informational texts are
nonfictional writing, wRitten with
the intention to inform the reader
about a specific topic.
These are typically found in
magazines, newspapers, science books,
Autobiographies, and instruction
manuals. They use special texts that
allow their users to easily find key
information and understand the main
topic.
The Young Heroine
One night in the province of Negros Occidental a
big fire broke out. Rona Mahilum woke up because of
the heat. They were alone at home. She was shocked to
see their hut burning. One by one she carried her two
younger brothers and three younger sisters down to
safety. Her dress was already burning but she went up
and down to save all her brothers and sisters. Then she
was taken to the hospital for deep burns on her back and
other parts of her body.
