NARRATIVE REPORT
On the Preparations for the Pilot Face to Face Expansion and Transitioning to
New Normal
Protective Measures, Hygiene Practices and Safety Procedure
December 13, 2021
The COVID-19 Pandemic has created a very large effect on the different aspects of
education. Aside from usual teaching and learning process that undertakes on every corners
of each classroom, this pandemic has also created an impact in terms of the domains of
development of every learner.
The government’s Department of Education has come up with guidelines to
implement online and modular distance learning delivery of instruction. This is to safeguard
students from being infected by the disease. However, plans to conduct the pilot
implementation of limited face-to-face delivery in low-risk areas of COVID-19 transmission
for January 2021 have been approved by the president
In line with this, Sta. Cruz Elementary School conducted a self-assessment using the
School Safety Assessment Tool (SSAT) in preparation for the expansion phase and onward
transitioning to new normal of face to face.
Our School reopening for the Pilot of face-to-face interactions must be carefully
planned to ensure the safety of the learners as well as teachers and school staff in a staged
fashion especially in following protective measures related to:
1) Sta. Cruz Elementary School established safe entrance and exit procedures for teachers,
students, non- teaching personnel and school visitors
Health Declaration Sheet for school personnel and students and contact
tracing tool for school-goers.
3) The school mobilized the school COVID-19 DRRM team that will take charge in ensuring
effective implementation of the schools health and safety protocols that are in place and
are observed during the preparation and implementation of limited face-to face classes
Designation of a safety Officer who serve as the focal person for the health
and safety protocols of the school.
4) The school has set-up a proper sanitation and hygiene facility for school-goers

Our school also placing of trash bins in strategic locations wherein signage on proper waste
of management practices near of it.
5) The school has ensured regular sanitation and disinfection of school facilities, furniture
and equipment
Routine cleaning and disinfecting are an important part of reducing the risk of exposure to
COVID-19.In order with that, our school has an availability of sanitation and disinfecting
materials and make an schedule of sanitation of frequently touched surfaces disinfection of
school facilities every after end of a school shift.
6) Ensured a proper disposal system of infectious wastes such as used tissues and masks in
non-contact receptacles.

wastes with a chlorine solution
Our school have proper disposal of all PPE’s in a separate leak-proof yellow trash bag with a
cover properly labelled as USED PPE’s. This will be collected twice a day from designated
area to be collected by our Barangay garbage collector. When collecting the leak-proof
yellow trash bag, our school always make sure to have an availability of medical face mask
required for school personnel. We also make a treatment such as chlorine solution used in
disinfection or spraying of collected wastes.

Hand washing and tooth brushing is integrated in the daily class program to
ensure the conduct of activities
Clean high touch surfaces and objects (such as, door handles, sink
handles, drinking fountains) within the school and on school transport
vehicles (such as, buses) at least once a day or as often as needed (for
example, when visibly dirty).
Limit sharing of high touch objects that are difficult to regularly
clean (such as, electronic devices, pens, pencils, books, games, art
supplies, lab equipment).
o If certain conditions apply (such as, low mask usage or high
community transmission), do not use difficult-to-clean shared
objects for 72 hours.
o If items need to be reused within 24 hours they should be
disinfected.
Staff should wash hands after removing gloves or after handling used
items or other objects near students who are unmasked.
