B. Establishing a purpose for Post a copy of the selection on the board:

Say: Let us read the short selection on the board
together.

Kurt hurt himself when he was playing.

He said, “Please help me get to the clinic!”
One of his group mates rushed to carry him and
laid him on the bed.
“I ’m afraid I might have broken my arms,” Kurt
said.
“Put your things down, relax, breathe, and smile,”
his friend Rene said.
“Hand me your project so you won’t be late in
passing them,” he added.

Ask:
What happened to Kurt while he was playing?
Why?
Why did they lay him on the bed?
What kind of injury was he afraid of?
To calm him, what did Rene ask him to do?

What are irregular verbs? Irregular verbs are used
to show past actions that have a change in
spelling or no change at all and it tells what action
took place or happened in the past.

FAMILY DINNER
Our family went to a restaurant for dinner.
We ate tinola, laing, fried tilapia and plain rice. We
drank mango juice. We had leche flan for dessert.
The service crew took a photo of us for a souvenir
and gave the bill. My father paid for it and drove us
home safely.
