Speaker
1. Idiolect
Idiolect is an individual variation of language based on the natural
characteristics of the language speaker such as voice color, word
choice, language style, and other.
Example: Bro, cool, awesome
2. Dialect
Dialects are regional or social variations of a language. These
variations occur in pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and
sometimes in social conventions regarding language use.
Example: British English, Amerika English, and Australia English.

Usage
According Hudson (1966) states that language
variation is based on this usage with the term
register. The register is a description of the
variety of languages used in certain fields and

Based on the level of formality, Martin Joos in Chaer (1995: 92) at least divides
language varieties into two types, namely:
