TOPIC: ROLE OF PERSONAL HYGIENE IN COMMUNICABLE AND NON-
COMMUNICABLE DISEASES.
a. Hand hygiene: Regularly washing hands with soap and water or using hand sanitizers can reduce
the spread of germs.
b. Respiratory hygiene: Covering mouth and nose with a tissue or elbow when coughing or sneezing
can prevent the spread of respiratory infections. For Example Covid 19.
c. Proper food handling: Ensuring proper food hygiene, such as washing hands before cooking and
avoiding cross-contamination, can prevent foodborne illnesses for example Botulism, Brucellosis etc.
d. Personal cleanliness: Regular bathing, maintaining clean clothes, and proper disposal of waste can
reduce the risk of infections for example Dermatitis neglecta.

a. Oral hygiene: Regular brushing and flossing of teeth can prevent dental
diseases like cavities and gum problems.
b. Skin hygiene: Keeping the skin clean and moisturized can prevent skin
conditions like eczema and infections
