AUTOMATIC ACCIDENT DETECTION USING DEEP LEARNING

ABSTRACT

• Traffic accidents are a significant global issue, often resulting in fatalities and injuries. The timely assistance to victims is
crucial, in that time immediate human intervention is not possible. To address this, by proposing “DeepCrash,” a deep
learning-based Internet of Vehicles (IoV) system designed to detect high-speed head-on and single-vehicle collisions and
initiate emergency notifications using Deep learning concept . Deep learning is a subfield of machine learning that’s based
on artificial neural networks with representation learning. It’s characterized by the use of multiple layers in the network,
which allows the system to learn complex patterns and relationships from large amounts of data. Deep learning models can
automatically learn and improve from experience without being explicitly programmed to perform specific tasks .
DeepCrash integrates an in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) telematics platform equipped with self-collision detection sensors
and a front camera, a cloud-based deep learning server for real-time accident analysis, and a cloud-based management
platform for emergency response coordination. Upon detecting a collision, the system uploads the data to the cloud server,
which recognizes the accident scenario and triggers an emergency notification
EXISTING

The current systems involve drivers, passengers, or bystanders providing assistance during traffic accidents. However, in remote areas or

when the driver is incapacitated, there’s often no one to send an emergency message within the critical time window for medical treatment.

DISADVANTAGES

In case of Accident

Immediate human intervention is not possible.

Response time for quick emergency notifications is not possible

lack of proper location detection is not possible manually

Time consuming process

Proper accident information details is not possible to maintain for further enquiry

related process

Lack of detecting a head-on or single-vehicle collision

PROPOSED

In the proposed system, DeepCrash, is a deep learning-based Internet of Vehicles (IoV) system.

It includes:

An in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) telematics platform with a vehicle self-collision detection sensor and a front camera.

A cloud-based deep learning server for processing and recognizing accident scenarios.

A cloud-based management platform for emergency notifications.Upon detecting a head-on or single-vehicle collision,

the system uploads the accident information to the cloud server for recognition and triggers an emergency notification.
