Problem formulation

This research centres its focus on the improvement of compression data from electrical
signals originated in a micro-grid. The compression algorithm centres its analysis in three
parameters:

• Retained energy percentage RTE

• Normalized mean squared error NMSE
• Cross correlation XCOR.

To accomplish the research goal, this paper uses Biorthogonal wavelet

Results summary
Conclusions
• Compression level exceeds 99.294 % in all the proposed scenarios which excels
previous works from literature review.

• The RTE obtained exceeds 99.84% in all the scenarios carried out, which is a better
reconstruction of the signal compared best previous work from the literature review
which presented 98.85% as its best result

• The cross-correlation 0.992, which is the best value found in the literature review

• The highest NMSE in the present investigation is 0.00296, improving the values of the
contrasted article that at its best presented 0.0270.
Conclusions

• In the literature review, most of the authors concluded at first glance, that a
reconstructed signal is similar to the original one, however, they have not taken into
account aspects such as the change in amplitude, the ripple generated or the shift
in the signal, all caused by characteristics of Wavelets such as change of scale and
shifting, these effects have been corrected in this research.
• The algorithms proposed in this research (before performing the windowing) have
made it possible to improve the all quality indices of the reconstructed signal such as
RTE, NMSE, and X-COR.
