What is ISO 14001:2015?

ISO 14001:2015 specifies the requirements for an environmental management system


that an organization can use to enhance its environmental performance. It is intended for
use by an organization seeking to manage its environmental responsibilities in a
systematic manner that contributes to the environmental pillar of sustainability.

What is ISO 14001:2015?

ISO 14001:2015 helps an organization achieve the intended outcomes of its


environmental management system, which provide value for the environment, the
organization itself, and the interested parties. Consistent with the organization's
environmental policy, the intended outcomes of an environmental management system
include:

· Enhancement of environmental performance;

· Fulfillment of compliance obligations;

· Achievement of environmental objectives.

Why need an Environmental Management System (EMS)?

The EMS plays a very important role in ensuring that, far beyond
mere compliance, the company is protecting and conserving the
environment by being conscious about the impact of its operations
to the surrounding environment.

Whose responsibility is the operation of the EMS?

1. The Top Management – represented by the


President and the rest of the Executive Committee
and supported by the Department Managers shall
commit and take accountability to ensure that the
EMS is implemented and its effectiveness
continually improved.

Whose responsibility is the operation of the EMS?

2. The Environmental Management


Representative (EMR) – ensures that the EMS
conforms to the requirement of ISO 14001:2015
such that the processes needed for the EMS are
established, implemented, maintained, and intended
outputs are delivered and that the awareness of
environmental requirements throughout the
company is being promoted.

Whose responsibility is the operation of the EMS?

3. All Employees – as every employee consumes resources and generates wastes


on a daily basis, he/she is responsible for the environmental impact of his/her
actions. Therefore, protecting and conserving the environment goes down to every
individual working for the company by actively taking part in fulfilling the
environmental objectives of his/her department and practicing proper waste disposal,
resource conservation, preventing pollution, and reporting to the top management
and the EMR the environmental breaches observed in the workplace.
Shared responsibility at all levels of the company organization is very essential in
successfully implementing the EMS.

on 19 February 2022 as having
established and applied an
Environmental Management
System for Design and Fabrication
of Boiler Components, Pressure
Vessels, and Boiler Rehabilitation
Work with proof that the
requirements according to ISO
14001:2015 are fulfilled. Since
then, the company has kept the
certification by keeping proofs of
compliance for use during
surveillance audits by the HSB
Auditor.

Improvement in cost control – aiming to reduce wastes prompts the company to

control in the procurement of materials, finding multiple uses for a single material, and
