5.1 Leadership and commitment:-


Top management is commitment for the followings w.r.t EMS.
A) Take accountability of effectiveness of the EMS;
B) Ensuring that the Environmental policy and quality objectives are established
C) Ensuring integration of EMS into organizations business processes
D) Promoting the use of process approach and risk based thinking
E) Ensuring that the resources needed for EMS are available
F) Communicating the importance of effective Environmental management and conforming to EMS Requirements
G) Ensuring that EMS achieves its intended results
H) Engaging, directing and supporting persons to contribute to effectiveness of EMS.
I) Promoting improvement
J) Supporting other relevant management roles to demonstrate their leadership as it applies to their area of
responsibility

5.2 Environmental Policy


The Environmental policy of our organization as declared by the MD is given below:
This policy is appropriate to the purpose and context of the organization and provides frame work for the environmental
objectives.

Happy Forgings Limited, Ludhiana is committed to:


 Preserve and continually improve the environment with minimum wastage of resources, reduction in pollution and by
creating awareness amongst management, employees, and interested parties
 Protect environment by complying with compliance obligations
 Take into account total Environmental effect while introducing new product/processes.
 Will strive to prevent pollution in our existing operations, as well as in future activities.
 Continual improvement to EMS.
All the persons under organization’s control have been made aware of Environmental policy through training session. The
policy has been displayed at prominent locations within the plant and outside of main gate. The Environmental Policy has been
framed such that it

 is appropriate to the nature, scale, environmental impacts of its activities, products or services;
 Includes a commitment to continual improvement & prevention of pollution.
 Includes a commitment to comply with compliance obligations to which the organization subscribes, which
relates to its environmental aspects.

 Provides the framework for setting and reviewing environmental objectives.


 is documented, implemented and maintained and communicated to all person working under organization’s
control with the intent that they are made aware of their individual Environmental obligations;
 Is available to the interested parties as described in procedure for communication.
The Environmental Policy will be reviewed during MRM to ensure that it remains relevant and appropriate to the organization.

5.3 Organizations role, responsibilities and authorities


Top management shall ensure that responsibilities and authorities for the relevant role are assigned, communicated and
understood within the organization
Top management has assigned the following responsibilities and authorities to Mr. Sukhwinder Masih (M.R) for
1. Ensuring that EMS conforms to requirements of this standard
2. Ensuring that Processes are delivering their intended output
3. Reporting the Performance of EMS and on the opportunities for improvement
4. Conducting Management Review Meeting
5. Maintaining records of Management Review Meeting
6. Controlling EMS documented information
7. Conduct the Internal Audits, Initiates Modification/ Correction in the EMS based on the audit findings

1 Overall administration of the Plant for smooth running

5 Chairing the Management Review Meeting

1 Investigating non-conformities and determining causes

2 Decision of Non-conformities

3 Understanding the requirement of customer related to EMS

1 Communicate Environmental policy to public / persons working for or on behalf of the organization.

2 Develop and implement policy and EM objective that take into account legal requirement and information about
significant aspects
3 Identifying environmental aspects and determining significant impacts on environmental

4 Define program for achieving objectives

5 Identifying training needs associated with environmental aspects, arranging training programs, co-ordination for
training programs & maintaining records of training
6 Maintaining safe and hygienic environment in the work premises

7 Define criteria for evaluation of significant aspects

8 Prevention of pollution

6 Co-ordination with production department to ensure proper preventive maintenance

7 Preparation / review of Preventive Maintenance Checklist & Schedule

8 Performs the preventive maintenance of all the machines as per Preventive Maintenance Schedule

9 Maintaining the records of maintenance performed

10 Safety test of equipments

11 Maintenance of Earth pits

12 Machine maintenance

13 Ensure the optimum operation & utilization of Plant & Machinery

14 Analysis the breakdown and determined the root cause and hence planning of corrective actions
