Configuring Interactivity of Visualization
• Can be filed under two objectives:
1. Drill down
• Tooltip display
• How to mark, drill down

Customizing Tooltip display
• Go to visualization properties by clicking “√” > Tooltip
• You can Add, Edit, Delete and Order values to be displayed in Tooltip

Adding image to tooltip display
• Images can be added using configured web URLs as shown below

Adding images as labels
• Images URL can be added in visualization properties > Labels

• Images can also be positioned accordingly

Drilling down
• Data can be further drilled down by:
 marking or dragging rectangle

 making Free form shape by pressing & holding Alt key and dragging mouse as desired shape
 Called as Lasso in Spotfire

 You can use Ctrl key for additional selection or


for removing particular selection

Details on Demand window
• Shows the details of selected/marked data
• You can undock(by clicking on pin icon), reposition(by dragging) or resize the window as required
• You can access it by clicking icon for Details on Demand or by going to View > Details on Demand
• You can also make it as a floating window by double clicking on the title bar of the docked window & vice versa
• You can also change the docking location of the window by dragging and dropping to different docking location

• In the Details of demand window
 You can Sort data by clicking on the column name to be sorted with respect to
 Also can, Make adjustments in the property dialog box to configure the display details
• Property can be accessed by right clicking any of the data and selecting Properties

More marking options
• The markings discussed earlier marks the data in all visualizations simultaneously i.e. data marked in one visualization reflects to all
visualizations
• More marking options and specific markings can be explored in Visualization properties > Data

• You can also choose to share marking options using Properties > Data > Marking

Changing Marking color
• Go to Edit > Document Properties > Markings

Creating new visualization for marked data
• Right Click > Create Details Visualization

• Details on demand window will always relate for the marking in the active visualization

• You can further drill down by creating new visualization of the marked data in the similar fashion

Creating Table with union/intersection of two visualizations
• From main Menu, go to Insert > New visualization > Table
• go to Table properties by clicking “√” > In Column section choose the column of interest
• Then go to Data section and use “Limit data using markings” to limit data set by selecting markings from the list
• In the same Data section you can select AND(intersection) or OR(union) operation
