• Omnibus Industrial Development Corporation (OIDC) has been set up to look after the big infrastructure projects in Diu. SEMESTER 8

aerospace, households, medical, green houses, defence and nonconventional energy.

▪ In FY22, the UT exported manmade yarn, fabrics and madeups worth US$ 680 million.

• Total merchandise exports from the UT stood at US$ 4.56 billion in FY22, and US$ 1.91 billion in FY23 (till August 2022).

• Industrial Policy 2015- The policy aims at achieving an industrial growth rate of
12-14% every year in the union territory. Creating 40,000 jobs and investing Rs.
5,000 crore (US$ 677 million) in new projects in the next five years.

• According to a report issued by the Diu administration, the GDP of Diu was estimated to be
Rs. 1113 crore in the financial year 2017-18.

• The gross value of Diu for the financial year 2017-18 was estimated to be Rs. 7479.6 crore,
with an increase of 5.2 percent compared to the previous year.

• As per the report, the per capita income of Diu increased by 4.5 percent during the financial
year 2017-18 compared to the previous year.

• the per capita income of Diu was estimated to be Rs 2.20 lakh for the financial year 2017-
18, which has increased by 6.3 percent during the year and is higher than the national level
income of Rs 1.20 lakh.
