INTRODUCTION
In an era when work demands are often shifting, graduating students must understand how to
cross the knowledge gap between their academic preparation and real-world capability. The more
prepared, the better. Engaging in internships during late adolescence is important for students' entire
development. It gives students a chance to explore and review their career objectives and develop
soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills that are important for
success in the workplace.

Despite the positive impact that internship programs can have on job readiness and
employability, students frequently face a variety of challenges throughout their experiences. This
research serves as a roadmap to help students preparing to enter the workforce manage the specifics
of the professional world, going beyond the theoretical curriculum.
Statement of the Problem:
This study aims to identify the difficulties encountered by the Accountancy, Business and Management
(ABM) Graduates in their Internship.

It tries to answer the following questions:

• What is the educational profile of the respondents?

2. What are the difficulties encountered by the ABM Graduates in their internship?

3. What action plan may be proposed based on the results of the study?
THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK

This study is supported by two theories. Experiential Learning Theory, by David Kolb
(1984), and Situated Learning Theory, first presented by Jean Lave and Etienne Wenger
(1991). The application of these theories will increase the scientific validity of the
researcher's study and make it more comprehensible to the readers.
EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING THEORY
Experiential learning theory highlights that the optimal way to acquire knowledge is by engaging in
direct experiences. Experiential learning is based on the idea that each person has learning tendencies
that dominate in certain stages of the learning process. There are four learning styles: Diverging,
Assimilating, Converging, and Accommodating. Diverging learners prefer to observe and imagine,
focusing on concrete learning and reflective observation. Assimilating learners prefer concepts and
abstracts, focusing on abstract conceptualization and reflective observation, converging learners to apply
what they've learned to practical issues, experimenting with new ideas, and focusing on abstract
conceptualization and active experimentation. Accommodating learners prefer practicality, using
intuition to solve problems and focusing on concrete learning and active experimentation. This theory
explains that students have different styles of learning based on their learning tendencies during specific
stages of the learning process.
SITUATED LEARNING
THEORY
According to this theory, knowledge should be acquired in the same context in which it will
be applied. When individuals participate in a community of practice, they have the chance
to learn and develop their skills. As they engage in the sociocultural practices of the
community, they gradually gain expertise and move from the periphery of the group to the
center.
RESEARCH DESIGN

The researchers will use a type of Quantitative research design called

descriptive research design to identify the difficulties faced by Accountancy,
Business and Management (ABM) graduates during their internship. The
researchers will use a type of Quantitative research called descriptive research
design to identify the difficulties faced by ABM graduates during their
internship.
RESEARCH
LOCALE

The study’s intended participants will be the graduates of Accountancy

Business and Management in Daraga National High School and currently
studying in Bicol University College of Business, Economics and
Management (BUCBEM).
RESEARCH
INSTRUMENTS

The study will use the structured questionnaire as the primary data
collection instrument. The questionnaire will consist of closed-ended
questions that will cover various aspects of the internship.
RESPONDENT
S
The target of this study will be the graduates of
Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM)
in the year 2018 and 2019.
SAMPLING DESIGN
A minimum of 25 and a maximum of 35
participants will be selected through a
purposive sampling technique from Dagara
National High School and Bicol University.
DATA ANALYSIS
To analyze the collected data, the researchers will use
the statistical tool called weighted mean. The weighted
mean involves multiplying each data point in a set by a
value which is determined by some characteristic of
whatever contributed to the data point. D. Clark-Carter
