MEDIA OF COUNSELING

 Individual face to face counseling. It is the most common


medium for counseling. In individual counseling it is a
one-on-one interaction. It involves a two way process
between the counselor and the client.
 Group face to face counseling. The counseling is done in
a group which can consist of three or more
members/clients.

 Telephone counseling. It refers to a one-to-one
communication conducted via telephones.
 Counseling by letter. This is where counseling is carried
out by correspondence (written communication).
 Counseling by broadcasting. Is counseling done via
radio and TV station programs.
 Online counseling. It refers to the provision of counseling
services via the internet (email, video conferencing.

anyone

Disdvantages of Online Counseling
Lack of physical presence
Lack of visual and verbal cues
Limited coexistance as one waits for the reply
Not appropriate in emergency cases
No regular appointment time.
