PROBLEM
STATEMENT
• Inadequate access to food, clothing, and basic necessities among impoverished
individuals presents a pressing societal challenge.
• Existing solutions for donation and distribution often lack efficiency and accessibility,
leading to wastage of resources and unmet needs.
• Addressing this issue requires a streamlined and inclusive platform that enables
individuals to easily donate surplus food, clothing, and goods to those in need.
• Developing such a platform poses the challenge of creating a user-friendly mobile
application that fosters connections between donors and acceptors while ensuring
efficient and equitable distribution of resources.
OBJECTIVES
Provide Location-Based
Assistance:
EXISTING SYSTEM:
OLIO APP
Geolocation Services: Leveraging advanced geolocation technology, Olio connects users with
nearby donors by incorporating gps and real time location of users.
Data-driven Insights: Olio utilizes data analytics to gain insights into user behavior, food waste
patterns, and the impact of its platform. This data-driven approach enables Olio to continually
refine its services, optimize resource allocation, and measure its contribution towards achieving
PROPOSED SYSTEM
• Personalized Recommendations: Utilize machine learning algorithms to provide personalized
recommendations to users based on their donation history, preferences, and location. T his feature
enhances user engagement and encourages continued participation in the sharing economy.
• Distance Filtering Option: Users can filter listings based on distance, allowing them to specify
their preferred radius for viewing available donations. This feature enhances convenience and
efficiency by displaying only relevant listings within the user's desired proximity.
• Item C ategorization and Search: Implement a comprehensive categorization system for donated
items, enabling users to easily search for specific items of interest. Categories could include
clothing, household goods, electronics, study materials and more, streamlining the browsing and
selection process for users.
• Emergency Assistance Alert System: In times of crisis, it allow s acceptors in affected areas to
trigger emergency alerts. Frequent donors nearby receive notifications marked by a distinctive
black icon on the map, prompting sw ift responses. NG Os and care facilities within a 15km radius
are also alerted, ensuring rapid mobilization of support. This proactive approach fosters community
resilience, facilitating timely aid delivery to those in need.
• Image Previews for Non-Food Items: Donors can attach images of non-food items to their listings,
aiding acceptors in previewing the items before connecting.
PROPOSED SYSTEM
• Dynamic Availability Window for Food Items: Food listings will be available for
acceptors for a limited time frame, typically 3 hours.
• Accelerated Exchange for Non-Food Items: Non-food items will have a maximum wait
time of 2 days for acceptors.
• Volunteer Driver Network: Users will have the option to request volunteer drivers to
assist with the transportation of donated goods.
• Integration with Social Media Platforms: Enable users to share their donation activities
and accomplishments on social media platforms directly from the app.
• User Ratings and Reviews: Introduce a user rating and review system to foster trust
and accountability within the community.
• Multi-language Support: Incorporate multi-language support to cater to a diverse user
base, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for users from various linguistic
backgrounds.
• Educational Resources and Tutorials: Offer educational resources and tutorials within
the app to educate users on topics such as food preservation, sustainable living
practices, and community engagement.

METHODOLOGY
• Conduct thorough research and analysis to identify key pain points and opportunities within
the donation ecosystem.
• Engage in agile development practices to iteratively build and test features, ensuring rapid
deployment and scalability.
• Establish partnerships with relevant stakeholders, including donors, acceptors, NGOs, and
government agencies, to enhance the effectiveness and reach of the platform.
• Implement rigorous security protocols and data protection measures to safeguard user
privacy and maintain trust within the community.
• Utilize Flutter, a cross-platform framework, to develop the mobile application for both iOS
and Android platforms.
• Integrate Google Maps API for location tracking and adjacency-based matching.
• Deploy the app to app stores, such as Google Play Store and Apple App Store, ensuring
compatibility and compliance with platform guidelines.
