MOTIVATION
Inspired by the gridlock caused by metro works, leading
to lengthy waits at junctions, we strived to enhance traffic
in an efficient way.

By introducing a gps based innovative navigation method,

We believe we could streamline traffic flow and minimize
time spent in congestion

While Witnessing the uncertainty and frequent collisions

at road crossings, particularly between bikes and vehicles,
we were motivated to devise a failsafe solution for safer
navigation.

We believe by providing clear instructions to road users

through gps, we could mitigate confusion and promote
smoother interactions at intersections.
PROBLEM STATEMENT

The current state of urban traffic management and intersection safety

often faces challenges in efficiently prioritizing lanes with high vehicle density
and ensuring collision avoidance at intersections. Traditional methods of traffic
signal control and driver decision-making may not always optimize traffic
flow or prevent collisions effectively. Hence, there is a need for an advanced
system that dynamically adjusts traffic signals and provides proactive collision
avoidance guidance based on real-time vehicle information.
OBJECTIVES
● Traffic flow efficiency through dynamic traffic signal control.

● Enhance road safety by utilizing GPS-based collision avoidance

measures.
● Promote sustainable urban mobility practices through efficient traffic
management.
● Contribute to the development of smart transportation systems for future
urban environments.
EXISTING SYSTEM
The current traffic signals rely on simplistic timing
mechanisms without incorporating traffic density-based
switching, resulting in inefficient traffic management.
There is Minimal sensor usage in the existing system which
restricts its ability to adapt to real-time traffic conditions.
Lane crossings lack structured guidance, relying on
individual judgment, increasing the risk of collisions.
Without a systematic approach to crossing, the absence of
clear instructions exacerbates the potential for accidents.
PROPOSED SYSTEM DESIGN
DYNAMIC TRAFFIC SIGNAL CONTROL: GPS-BASED COLLISION AVOIDANCE:
Traditional systems are static, operating based on Utilises GPS to access speed and position at
fixed timing or sensor inputs. DriveSmart Aid intersections, providing real time collision risk
dynamically adjusts traffic signals based on real-time and safe maneuvering guide.
GPS data making traffic control more efficient.
