What are we doing?

We are making a universal indicator using red cabbage and testing it with acids
and alkalis
Acids-
Acids are liquids or a materials that are acidic, they are corrosive, taste sour and
bitter and have a ph of lower than 7
Alkalis-
Alkalis are liquids or materials that are soapy in texture, taste bitter and are
corrosive and they have a ph of higher than 7
How will be do it?

 we will boil the red cabbage then we will blend it until its like a juice we will
then put it in a bowl and mic it with our text liquids which are:
 Lemon juice
 Washing powder
 Sulfuric acid
 Bleach
 Milk
 Sodium hydroxide
 Vinegar
Why did we chose this topic?

 We choose this topic because it is easy and we can find all the resources at
home and it will be a fun experiment for us we also learned how acids and
alkalis word with a universal indicator and we also leaned how to neutralise a
acid and alkali.
 We also learned that how we can fix acid burns and alkali burns by using acids
and alkalis
Daily life uses of acids and alkalis

 Alkalis-
Acids and alkalis are not only found in chemistry labs, they are actually very
common. We use acids and alkalis in our daily lives for things like cleaning, coking
and you even eat and drink some substances that are acidic or alkaline.

Acids-
The most common application is the Sulphuric acid found in the car batteries. It is
also used in making fertilizers, cleaning products, and manufacturing of polymers.
Iron and steel industries use sulfuric acid to remove oxide coatings. It is also used
in some solution to unclog the drain.
